LIVESTRONG Ambassador, DJ/Producer, DiJiTAL, Signs Exclusive Deal With Muse Lifestyle Group in Los Angeles (PLAYHOUSE and SOUND Nightclub)

DiJiTAL Makes May 17th Return to Playhouse Nightclub After Undergoing Major Surgery Muse Lifestyle Group has announced an exclusive Los Angeles residency deal with EDM DJ/Producer and LIVESTRONG ambassador, DiJiTAL. DiJiTAL also recently announced his cancer diagnosis during National Young Adult Cancer Week in March. He did so with the help of The LIVESTRONG Foundation and his management team at Interlock Entertainment. This past year has been a challenging one for the Los Angeles-based DJ and music producer. In February, DiJiTAL was diagnosed with testicular cancer and struggled to come out publicly about his disease. “It was after a second visit to my doctor to discuss treatment that I made the decision to speak out about my diagnosis. My doctor, who had also been diagnosed with testicular cancer in his 20’s, spoke about how much I could help to bring awareness to other young adults dealing with cancer. Now it’s my mission,” says the young DJ. “I’m 24 years old and I’m a cancer survivor. I also know that I’m not the only one.” DiJiTAL and Muse Lifestyle Group have worked closely together over the years. DiJiTAL has been a main stage attraction at their Los Angeles clubs Playhouse and Sound. This new deal only strengthens the bond, and will see him as a monthly resident performing at the aforementioned nightclubs exclusively in LA. DiJiTAL will continue to perform in Las Vegas, Miami, San Diego and various other cities internationally. As of last month, DiJiTAL is now living cancer free after undergoing a major surgery to remove cancer cells. He celebrated his recovery with a new ‘SURVIVOR’ tattoo on his forearm. Music production was a major factor in keeping DiJiTAL’s spirits up with recovering. He is slated to release his first originally produced record later this month. May 17th will mark his return and celebrate the new relationship with Muse with a performance at LA hotspot Playhouse, the No. 4 nightclub in the world. May 17th is also National Livestrong Day. He is scheduled to appear at Sound on June...

Electronic Music Star DJ DiJiTAL Announces Cancer Diagnosis & Support From the LIVESTRONG Foundation

APRIL 1-7 IS NATIONAL YOUNG ADULT CANCER AWARENESS WEEK AUSTIN, TX–(Marketwired – Apr 2, 2013) – Renowned disc jockey and music producer Adir Tal, better known as DJ DiJiTAL, today announced that he has been battling testicular cancer since his diagnosis on Feb. 14, 2013. The 24-year old has kept up a fast-paced touring schedule during treatment and chose to announce his diagnosis during National Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week in order to inspire other young people facing cancer to be strong and positive. He also highlighted the help he has been receiving from the LIVESTRONG Foundation through its free cancer support services, in which anyone affected by cancer — whether you have cancer, or are a loved one, friend, health care professional or caregiver of someone diagnosed — can receive confidential, one-on-one guidance dealing with the emotional, financial and practical challenges that accompany a cancer diagnosis. DJ DiJiTAL said the LIVESTRONG Foundation has “been incredible to me. They’ve helped me anywhere from teaming me up with some of the greatest doctors in the world to just talking to me.” “With the platform of LIVESTRONG behind me, it’s allowed me to open up and go public with it and help other people. I want to encourage other people to live life to the fullest, to go and care a little bit more about their health,” he said. “This is an opportunity for me to really do something bigger, something more influential, something that I can actually help you with, help people that do have cancer, help people that don’t have cancer, help someone be more positive in their day-to-day life. I want you all to know that my spirits have never been higher and I will not allow something like this to slow me down on my path to fulfilling my dream.” “We are honored to be supporting such a spirited and strong individual and look forward to working with DJ DiJiTAL in our continued fight for adolescents and young adults who are affected by cancer,” said LIVESTRONG Foundation President & CEO Doug Ulman. “This age group is affected at one of the most critical times in their lives, and we are glad that DJ DiJiTAL is joining our efforts as a key voice calling for more efforts to address their needs.” Adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer are often caught between the worlds of pediatric and adult oncology. Factors that impact survivorship in young adults include lack of insurance, less participation in clinical trials and delayed diagnoses. They may face a variety of unique long-term effects that will need to be addressed over their lifetimes, such as reentry into school or the workforce, insurance coverage issues, infertility as a result of treatment, neurocognitive effects or secondary malignancies. DJ DiJiTAL Gets Real

DJ DiJiTAL Gets Real

By Brooke McMillan Renowned DJ and music producer Adir Tal (DJ DiJiTAL) announced today that he has been battling testicular cancer since his diagnosis on Feb. 14, 2013. The 24-year old has kept up a fast-paced touring schedule during treatment and chose to announce his diagnosis during National Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week in order to inspire other young people facing cancer to be strong and positive. He hopes his story compels other young adults to get diagnosed early and to contact the LIVESTRONG Foundation to get help. Tell us a little about yourself. My name is Adir Tal, aka DJ DiJiTAL, and I’m from Los Angeles, CA. I have testicular cancer, and I was diagnosed at the age of 24 in February. No one expects to have cancer at such a young age. What made you go to the doctor? It’s a crazy feeling to find something out like this. I was very fortunate in this circumstance, because in most cases people do not recognize or have symptoms. I actually had some discomfort in my lower back, testicle, and lower abdomen, which ultimately made me decide to go get checked out. Young adults deal with different issues than older patients. What issues have you faced so far? With regards to the fertility, before my orchiectomy, I took the precautionary measure to have my sperm cryogenically frozen. Thankfully, because of this, I have not suffered any of those issues. As far as the fatigue, I definitely have suffered a bit, however, nothing that has been able to hold me back from doing what I love doing. I am extremely lucky to have an amazing team behind me. My management team at Interlock Entertainment has been incredible in supporting me during this time period. They have kept me touring the country, performing more than ever, since my diagnosis, and they are going to make sure that I am right back at it upon my return. You recently signed on as a LIVESTRONG Ambassador to help spread the work of the Foundation. What does LIVESTRONG mean to you? LIVESTRONG is a way of living. It means that we have the control, the power, and the will, to live our lives on our own terms, no matter the circumstances. This foundation demonstrates that there really are great people out there who genuinely care for you, without even personally knowing who you are. It’s been an honor to meet and work with such amazing people, and I am very thankful for everything they have done. Personally, I am beyond excited to build and grow with the LIVESTRONG Foundation by helping to spread awareness to those that may not already have the incite and knowledge. If you had one piece of advice for a young person just diagnosed with cancer, what would it be? It is important to not rush ahead. Take each day head on and continue to move forward with your life. You cannot let this consume you and run your life for you. Remember that you are still in control of your own emotions and that you that still have the...

If You Don’t Know, Now You Know; DJ DiJiTAL

If You Don’t Know, Now You Know; DJ DiJiTAL

Three quarters deep in the minibar, and it’s about time to hit the road in pursuit of some entertainment and over-priced libations. A hop, skip and a stumble away, we find ourselves at newly opened, Sound Nightclub in Hollywood, with DJ DiJiTAL on the decks. Even though we had no article to write or promo to cover there that night, we couldn’t get over the DJ. He had the whole club preoccupied on the dance floor and brought a tremendous amount of energy to the venue. After that night, we reached out to DiJiTAL wanting to learn more of what he was all about. Eventually, we were fortunate enough to sit down with him in his home studio in Hollywood. ALWAYS on the road, the next day he was heading east to headline nights in Miami and the Bahamas. He spins all over the U.S., from Vegas, Miami, the Bahamas, San Francisco, Arizona, Chicago, Texas, etc. Adir Tal aka DJ DiJiTAL is a born and bred, Los Angeles based DJ. At only 24 years old, DiJiTAL is making a name for himself in the ever-so-popular and growing DJ world and music industry, as he also produces and writes music. He is primarily focused on progressive house music. DiJiTAL has always been musically oriented, coming from a musically-inclined family. From the age of six, he grew up playing the drums, the guitar, and even his grandmother’s old turntables. At eleven years old, his parents bought him two turntables. His first real crack at djing happened at his older sister’s cheerleading clinic. They needed a DJ, so DiJiTAL swooped in and filled the part. From there, he went on to dj at Bat Mitzvah’s, weddings, and numerous other events. Throughout high school, with many gigs under his belt, he still never looked at it as a career, and more as just a hobby. After high school, DiJiTAL headed to Santa Barbara for college. From djing frat parties and sorority formals, he eventually landed at Sand Bar and Sharky’s. At this point, DiJiTAL started making a name for himself and received much respect for his music, so he decided to head back home to LA to potentially pursue djing. However, Hollywood is a tough scene and if you don’t know the right people, well, good luck. As time went on, he was eventually approached by Brian Toll, who gave him an opening set at Les Deux. He then went on to headline at One Sunset, was given his own night at Deluxe, and things started picking up. Eventually, Travis Andres & Gary Mirella from Universal Music Group started repping DiJiTAL at Delmar Entertainment. DJ Cobra then discovered DiJiTAL and brought him to Interlock Entertainment, where he is now. Interlock currently reps the top DJ’s in town; DJ Mr. Best, DJ Cobra, Tony Martinez, MisterMike, DJ Eye, DJ E-Rock, & more.. Next up for DiJiTAL? He’s currently working on an EP that should be released within the next year. After hearing DiJiTAL’s story, we asked him a few of our typical ‘tipsy’ questions… Tipsy: Favorite places in Hollywood to DJ? DiJiTAL: Lexington Social House, Sound Nightclub, Greystone Manor, & AV Nightclub. Tipsy: Favorite cities to DJ? DiJiTAL: Miami for the culture and Vegas for the energy as everyone is there to just have...

Adrienne Maloof Debuts Her Fashion-Friendly OMG Cases at Kitson

By Katie Marzullo, YH Staff Editor This week, L.A. boutique Kitson was the venue of choice to launch one of the must-have items of the summer – the LED illuminated cell phone case by OMG cases, the first of its kind. The product is a collabo of Silly Brandz’s Robert Croak and Real Beverly Hills Housewife, Adrienne Maloof, who hosted the party to show off their swanky iPhone accessories. The cases come in 11 super cool designs, each of which, when encasing your phone, lights up whenever you get a call or text. Very chic for those trendsetters on the go, but just remember to turn it off when you’re in the movie theatre! The product launch was attended by many personal and professional pals of Adrienne’s, including DJ Dijital, who let Adrienne get her spin on toward the end of the night. Attendees, in addition to getting an exclusive first look at the OMG Cases, also got to nibble on some refreshments from Sweet E’s bake shop and Eat by Chef Greg catering, all while doing their usual browsing in the celeb-favorite shop where the event took place. The Hottest DJ in Las Vegas: DJ DiJiTAL

Adir Tal’s musical roots began at an early age as he experimented with drums, guitar, piano and bass. What began as a hobby quickly turned to obsession when he began DJing Bar/Bat-Mitzvah’s at only eleven years old. As he matured, so did his music. By the age of seventeen, Adir had already begun producing his own tracks and his undeniable skill was garnering attention amidst the club owners of Santa Barbara. He soon started playing at the hottest clubs in the city, headlining five nights a week in venues such as Tonic, Sharkeez, Eos, Sandbar and Q’s. After two years of one-offs and unstoppable dedication and commitment, his obsession with excellence proved fruitful as residency offers began to pour in. As word of his talent and energy spread, he began to take up offers at One Sunset, Beso, Bar 210, Deluxe, Las Palmas, My Studio, MyHouse, Colony, Fox Tail, Area, Industry, Guys and Dolls, MI6, Les Deux, Teddy’s, Eden, Lexington Social House, Supper Club, Roxbury, Voyeur and Hyde. His growing popularity soon caught the attention of Hollywood celebrities. Adir has played private events for Seth McFarlane, Eva Longoria, Nicky Minaj, Ya Boy, Too Short, Bobby Brackins, Jason Derulo, and Taio Cruz to name a few. Adir proved to not only be limited to the Los Angeles/Hollywood scene however, as he found himself DJing at Tabu, Moon, and Lavo in Las Vegas, Sway in San Diego, Wall in Miami, and Plum City Lounge in El Paso Texas. Shortly thereafter, traveling the country wasn’t enough, Adir had to go international, DJing at clubs in Europe such as Shalvata and The...

SnapStarLive Personality of the Week: DiJiTAL

DiJiTal. At only 22, Adir Tal’s accomplishments as a DJ have surpassed most that dare to enter the hyper-competitive field. The question must then be asked: What makes Adir so different from the other DJ’s trying to break the mold? The answer is simple: Adir is not just a person who plays music for an endearing crowd, he’s also a performer. You got into DJing at a very early age of 11. How did you get involved with music initially? My parents had a big impact on me. My dad was a sound engineer, and my mom was a performer in Israel. I was always drawn towards music, and they helped guide me. I started drumming when I was 6 years old and it went from there… It must have been an amazing journey from starting to DJ at 11, through starting to produce your own music at 17 and now playing at the hottest night clubs in Los Angeles and around United States. Was there a break through moment that took your career to the next level? I feel that my career hasn’t reached the point where I want to be yet so i think that isn’t a question I can answer quite yet. It’s kind of been more of a gradual rise.. no “big break” yet. hahah to the say the least it’s been a humbling experience. But yes going from being a wedding Bar mitzvah DJ to traveling the world and playing the hottest clubs has been a crazy Journey, and I am extremely grateful to be where I am in my career now. Creating a career as a DJ is very competitive and it’s a bumpy road towards success. Were there times you thought about giving up DJing and going in another direction? To be honest I love what I do and right now there is nothing else I would rather do, but like everything in life there are ups and downs… Even DJing… I am a pretty driven person and when I put my mind to something I usually do it… there were some down points that sucked and made me question if I was doing the right thing for myself in the long run. I don’t recall ever actually contemplating “quitting” But I would say it is important to be open minded and not be scared of opportunities that will arise. You’ve performed at so many amazing nightclubs and events all around United States. What is your most memorable event you performed at? Wow that’s a hard one… All of my performances are truly special to me. I would say DJing for 15,000 people in Kansas City was pretty incredible… Feeding off the energy of that many people all at once is a pretty crazy feeling. Continue reading this article...
